The old matchbox P-51D was originally part-made and then I decided to re-do the interior, having bought an Aires resin update set for a Hasegawa P-51D I thought I'd use the Hasegawa cockpit in this kit. So, I split the model, and while I was at it I thought I'd have a go at sanding off the raised panel lines and re-scribing them. I did the port side, but never got around to the starboard side before it was relegated to the indefinitely postponed list. I've an Aires resin Packard-built Merlin engine that I might even use in this kit given the incentive/inspiration/encouragement!
