Messerschmitt Me-109E-2, Academy 1/72

Quite a nice little kit, with only a couple of vices - the first of which are the tail stabiliser supports, which seem to be moulded for an entirely different kit. I spent hours trying various configurations before giving up and just gluing the damn things on in the best way I could find. The other odd thing is the shape of the front cowling, which doesn't really capture the chunky lines of the "Emil" too well - I'd have preferred a separate cowling without the rather poorly defined machine guns (which are also inaccurately aligned). On a rare version these errors might have been understandable, but on one of the major production versions it's not really on!
