F) A Dip in the Sangro River

This is just a picture frame I picked up in a charity shop with the glass and picture taken out, the edges sealed with PVA glue, and the terrain built up with papier mache. When thoroughly dry, a mixture of interior filler, PVA glue and brown poster paint was plastered over the papier mache, and graded crushed cat litter sprinkled over the top (lightest grains in the riverbed). Pieces of heather were inserted into the plaster before it set. When that was dry, the whole thing was covered in PVA glue and scenic scatter distributed over the top parts, followed by a further coat of watered down PVA. After this had set, the base was sprayed with a mixture of browns and greens. It will (eventually) have a Messerschmitt Me-210 crash-landed on the bank, minus one outer wing panel, an exposed engine, open cockpit and various other bits of battle damage.
