Focke-Wulf Ta-183, PM Model 1/72nd

Focke-Wulf Ta-183 'Huckbein'

NOTES: Also finished for the Cosford show, this beast was the PM Model kit, though I used the Revell decal sheet stencilling etc. The fit of the fuselage is dodgy, the two "halves" being slightly different depths, but quite easily solved. Masked and sprayed in the same way as the Academy Hurricane Mk IIc. I wanted a newly finished aircraft (the only example of this aircraft was never actually finished), so I didn't oil wash or add paint "chips", just light gun exhaust marks. Felt OK about this model until I realised (after cementing and painting the canopy) that the wing attachment points are visible through the canopy. Aaarrggghh!!!! Next time.…

Extras: Reheat Seat and straps, spares box instrument panel, scratch built canopy insert, Revell decals

Finish: Xtracolour Enamels, Johnson's Klear, Cryla Artist's Acrylic Matt Varnish, Artists Oil Pastels

Brush:
Badger 150 copy, with direct compressor (no tank or regulator)
